Estate Planning

last will

A comprehensive estate plan includes not only the drafting and discussion of wills and who is to receive your assets upon your death, but also a consideration of how such assets will be transferred.  Certain assets can easily be excluded from the probate process, while it may make sense for other assets to remain in your probate estate.

Further, estate planning should include an analysis of how your affairs will be handled during your life in the event you are unable to manage them yourself.  This may include the creation of powers of attorney for financial and health care decisions.  Finally, end of life intentions should be discussed and, if appropriate, a living will should be executed in order to make clear your intentions with respect to end of life medical care.
